In the spring of 2012 I had the opportunity to learn how to carve a totem pole with Jay Haavik. I ended up carving my own 11 foot totem pole, and this is the story of that pole.
The summer of 2005 I will be Kayaking the Inside Passage of British Columbia, Canada on a Solo trip from Seattle, Washington to Ketchikan, Alaska. The trip should take about two months, staring on July 16 and ending September 16.
Mary Lou was there to see me off and to take pictures. My biggest fear at that time was that I would get into the fully loaded kayak, roll over into the aromatic Mud Bay and she would take pictures of it all.
